  • WEEK #1 • PROBLEM

    A fair die has many faces, each numbered 1, 2, 3, or 4. When this die is rolled twice, the probabilities of getting a sum of 2, 3, or 4 are equal. The probability of rolling a 4 in one roll is 1/6.
     
    (a) Find the probability of getting a sum of 5 when rolling the die twice.
    (b) Find the minimum amount of faces that the die could have.
